The St. Pete Beach Public Library is Under Construction!

The $2.1 million dollar renovation of the Library building at 365 73rd Avenue is well underway and is expected to be completed in early 2021 with an estimated March 2021 move in date.

While construction is going on, the library has moved to a temporary location located at 7470 Gulf Blvd., St. Pete Beach, FL 33706

The renovation of the 50-year-old building was undertaken by Hennessey Construction at the direction of the City Commission. The project consists of a complete rework of the roof and other structural components, a replacement of the A/C chiller and interior ductwork, interior and exterior lighting upgrades, door and window replacements, stairs and ADA access ramps.

Grant monies from the Pinellas Public Library Cooperative have allowed extensive upgrades to the furnishings and shelving.

The Friends of the St. Pete Beach Library are generously contributing monies to purchase a new (and improved) outdoor book return, benches, a bike rack, a self check out machine, and exterior signage among other things.

The Library parking lot, not included in the 2.1 million, will also be renovated and the area will be newly landscaped.

We’re very excited that the project is moving along on schedule and on budget and look forward to welcoming you back to our renovated home!
