Street Paving

The City evaluates its streets using a Pavement Condition Index (PCI) roadway rating system. The PCI system rates streets on a scale of 1 (very poor) to 100 (brand new) by utilizing highly specialized vehicle mounted sensors and visual observations that generate an algorithmic rating of each street in the City. The City then selects the Streets for the annual paving program by utilizing the PCI values and other construction compatibility criteria. For Fiscal Year 2023, the paving program will focus on Gulf Way starting at 1st Avenue and paving north as far as the City’s paving budget will allow.
